Political/Cultural Significance
  • The Shrine of the Book is a wing of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, which is home to the Dead Sea Scrolls. Because the scrolls are so fragile, they are featured on a rotation: after a scroll has been shown for 3-6 months, it is removed from the showcase and placed temporarily in a special showroom.
  • Home to many important archaeological artifacts from Israeli’s history
  • Contains a first century AD model of the city of Jerusalem.
