Benevolence

One defining characteristic of a local church is how well its members care for one another. Loving God and loving others are intricately linked throughout Scripture and help connect our church family with the very reason Christ came into our world.

Over the course of this year, our Benevolence Fund has helped individuals with medical bills, moving expenses, vehicle repair, utility bills, and hundreds of hours of counseling resources. This fund was supplied by our annual Christmas Eve offering.

Christmas Eve services are a longstanding tradition for our church family, and this is the one time during the year that we pass a plate to collect our Benevolence offering. However, if you are unable to attend a service and would like to give above your normal offering, you can text BENEVOLENCE to 864-428-1350 or select the Benevolence Fund when you give online December 24-26. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Galatians 6:9-10 – “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.”

Advent

Advent is a season of celebration in which we get to look back on Jesus’ first arrival and expectantly await his second arrival. Beginning the fourth Sunday before Christmas and continuing through Christmas day, Advent holds many traditions that provide us with the opportunity to slow down and reflect on Jesus’ birth, his redemptive sacrifice, and the promise of ultimate restoration. We hope you will take advantage of several resources we have gathered to help you embrace the Advent season.
